is a partnership between businesses, communities and government. In the voluntary initiative, employers are encouraged to offer a broad range of commuting options in order to promote alternatives to driving to work alone during peak periods.

Safe Routes to School is a national program designed to decrease congestion around schools and promote walking and bicycling through infrastructure improvements and educational activities.

The Bicycle Friendly Community Campaign is a national grassroots effort coordinated by the League of American Bicyclists designed to increase the number of trips made by bike, promote physical fitness, and help make communities more livable.

Bike to Work is a campaign by the League of American Bicyclists and Shimano that provides resources and tools to encourage individuals to commute to work by bicycle.

Biketown USA is an initiative supported by Bicycling Magazine, TIAA-CREF, Shimano and the League of American Bicyclists. Electra, Fuji, Giant and Schwinn will donate 1,000 bicycles (50 for each city) that will be given to "participants interested in seeing how incorporating a bicycle into their daily lives can affect change for themselves, their families and/or their communities."
