Active Transportation is supported by a partnership between several organizations and corporations in the walking and bicycling industries. The organizations described below are responsible for coordinating the campaign, hosting the website and updating its content:

Bikes Belong Coalition is a membership organization founded by bicycle industry leaders with the mission of "putting more people on bikes more often." Strategies include lobbying for bicycle friendly policy in Washington, D.C., promoting bicycling to the public, supporting other groups pursuing similar goals and distributing grants for bicycle facility, education and capacity projects.

League of American Bicyclists promotes bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation and works through advocacy and education for a bicycle-friendly America. The League represents the interests of the nation's 57 million cyclists. With a current membership of 300,000 affiliated cyclists, including 40,000 individuals and 600 affiliated organizations, the League works to bring better bicycling to your community.

Active Living by Design is a national program of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and is a part of the UNC School of Public Health in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This program establishes and evaluates innovative approaches to increase physical activity through community design, public policies and communications strategies.
